Higher States of Spiritual Freedom Sought at the Church of Scientology Tampa!

I was drawn to visit and tour the Church of Scientology Tampa when I saw the phrase “higher states of spiritual freedom” on their website. I made an appointment for the one-hour tour and signed up for the introductory class afterwards. I thought the class was an hour but actually is about 2-1/2 hours. Due to time constraints I used my two hours meeting Scientologists, asking questions, and learning as I toured the public information center. Everyone was very nice, professional, and as helpful as could be.

I like Scientology from what I see because it is all about the inward journey of self-discovery. Knowing how to know. All three parts of man—Thetan (Spirit)—Mind—Body.

I learned about the ‘Eight Dynamics of Existence”—1) Self; 2) Sex and Family; 3) Group Survival; 4) Mankind; 5) Life Forms; 6) Physical Universe (MEST=Matter, Energy, Space, and Time)); 7) Spiritual; and 8) Infinity—The Supreme Being Creator.

I learned of other concepts such as the Emotional Tone Scale—how to handle other people; the unpredictable nature of other people (and myself I thought). The ‘ARC Triangle’—Affinity (Emotional Response)—Reality (Solid, Real, Agreed Upon)—Communications (Interchange of Ideas). That if one leg of the triangle falls, all three legs fall and vice versa if one rises, all three rise! The process of ‘auditing.’ How our reactive mind can be activated, triggered by pain—physical, emotional—unconscious—partial/total all stored but can be cleared to make you free!

There are twenty-one (21) key dimensions or characteristics to be successful in life (my words as no labels were present; some dictionary definitions added below):

1)           Take care of self.

2)           Be temperate (moderate or self-restrained; not extreme in opinion, statement, etc.; moderate as regards indulgence of appetite or passion, especially in the use of alcoholic liquors; not excessive in degree, as things, qualities, etc.).

3)           Don’t be promiscuous (characterized by or involving indiscriminate mingling or association, especially having sexual relations with a number of partners on a casual basis; consisting of parts, elements, or individuals of different kinds brought together without order; indiscriminate; without discrimination; casual; irregular; haphazard).

4)           Love and help children.

5)           Honor and help parents.

6)           Set a good example.

7)           Seek to live with the truth.

8)           Do not murder.

9)           Don’t do anything illegal.

10)         Support a government designed and run for all people.

11)         Do not harm a person of good will.

12)         Safeguard/Improve your environment.

13)         Do not steal.

14)         Be worthy of trust.

15)         Fulfill your obligations.

16)         Be industrious.

17)         Be competent.

18)         Respect the religious beliefs of others.

19)         Try not to do things to others that you would not like them to do to you.

20)         Try to treat others as you would want them to treat you.

21)         Flourish & Prosper.

I particularly liked the exhibits and office of the founder of Scientology and Dianetics—L. Ron Hubbard.

Writer—Artist—Administrator—Founder—Humanitarian

Some quotes of L. Ron Hubbard:

“A culture is only as great as its dreams, and its dreams are dreamed by artists.”

“It is not man’s dreams that fail him, it is the lack of know-how required to bring those dreams into actuality.”

“Probably the strangest place an explorer can go is inside.”

Dianetics—only workable technology of the mind.

Scientology—applied religious philosophy for total spiritual freedom.

A review of the exhibits include—Citizens Commission on Human Rights—World Institute of Scientology Enterprises (WISE)—Scientology Volunteer Ministers—Scientology Around the World—Scientology Network (DIRECTV Channel 320)—International Association of Scientologists (IAS)—Drug-Free World—United for Human Rights—Applied Scholastics: Tools for Learning and Literacy—Narconon Drug Rehabilitation & education—Purification Program—Dianetics—Scientology: Parts of Man—See a Thought (E-Meter)—The Way to Happiness—Criminon: Criminal Reform—L Ron Hubbard Exhibits & Office.

There are two tests if a life well lived according to L Ron Hubbard:

1)           Did we do as one intended?

2)           Were people glad we lived?

It was an exceptional visit of one seeking to experience “the higher states of spiritual freedom!”

All good blessings with gratitude to the Church of Scientology Tampa!

Presence of The Holy Spirit Felt at the Revival River Church of Tampa Bay!

My visit and worship at the River Church of Revival Ministries International was all that their website said it would be and more! Dynamic praise and worship; anointed preaching; teaching of the Word; and powerful demonstrations of the Holy Spirit and Power! Pastor Rodney was surely ‘totally dependent upon The Holy Spirit for His leading and guidance’ as he gave a powerful sermon of Matthew Chapter 25—Parable of the Talents!

From a parking lot so designated by signs with the names of the various countries of our world into a sanctuary with the flags of many countries this visit had an international flavor for sure so fitting as we are spiritually first all ‘children of the world.’ Pastor Rodney and his wife Pastor Adonica Howard Browne are from South Africa and starting in the 1980s, have built from the ground up a diverse and growing congregation.

The opening five songs lasted 30 minutes and indeed with the reprise of “You are My Everything” after Pastor Rodney invoked the Spirit of the Lord through Apostle Paul… I indeed felt the presence of The Holy Spirit as I have never felt before! “You are a spirit… renew, revive, and transform… Thank you for your presence.” There was crying and folks I think speaking in tongues which I never witnessed before. A beautiful and overwhelming display of joy!

The Main Event, as they refer to the sermon, was indeed simple and uncomplicated as a spirited life can be in Jesus. The natural to the supernatural. March Madness becomes March Gladness indeed! “Don’t worry what other people are thinking because many people do not think. That is the problem”

The ‘Fire of God’ was shared with nearly 1,000 folks saved at last night’s Clearwater Crusade, another recent crusade in North Dakota, stories of victories given from talents given a year ago, and a couple planting a church in Bradenton.

Matthew 25:29:   “For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.”

Multiplying the talents that we are given. Don’t just bury the talents given in the ground.

The Supernatural increases Multiplication… people coming down here to re-tire, get re-fired up!

The Devil has no car to get around, the Devil can only walk unless the only car he has is you!

The talents, the abilities, that you are born with are unique to you alone. Do not compare, do what God tells you to do! Do not do what most people do—do not hide your talents!

The earth, our lives are a testing ground for all eternity! Don’t be the one at the end to ask ‘Could I have done more?’

Blame others? No, look in the mirror! Why spend money to impress people that you do not like?

Matthew 25:23: “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’”

God’s Blessing and Safe travels to Pastor Rodney and all who are journey with him on the ‘Europe Ablaze’ Ministry of 42 cities in about three weeks’ time!

2019 PLAYERS: FCA Sunday Chapel Service with Justin Hueber & The Jason Lovins Band!

Another inspirational worship service hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) on PLAYERS Sunday at TPC Sawgrass. MC’d by FCA’s Matt Roop; music by the Jason Lovins Band; testimony by Web.com player Justin Hueber and his wife Sarah; and a sermon by Pastor George Powers from the Palm Valley Baptist Church made for an extraordinary gathering of Christians!

FCA Director Roop set the tone of feeling the presence of God’s blessings, glory, and amazing love; most evident in the beauty of TPC Sawgrass; by reading these three biblical verses:

The Jason Lovins Band played their inspirational song 'The Grass is Greener'...

The Jason Lovins Band played their inspirational song ‘The Grass is Greener’…

Psalm 19:1:   “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”

John 1:3:   “All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”

Colossians 1:16-17:   “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

With Jason Lovins, an inspirational guy!

The Jason Lovins Band performed three songs including one that puts life immediately into perspective—The Grass is Greener—“this heart that sleeps will start to beat when it is given life with you.” If you don’t know this band or Jason Lovins’ personal spiritual journey please click on this link. For me, meeting him today and hearing the band play is proof-positive of the truth found in Genesis 50:20—“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.”—Jason’s story is a remarkable example of God’s Power and Love!

Sarah & Justin giving their uplifting testimony to the Lord...

Sarah & Justin giving their uplifting testimony to the Lord…

Sarah and Justin’s testimonies were testimonies of the love of God, the love for life and the love for each other. For professional golfers like Justin it is not simply play in college—then get tour card—and then play and win on the PGA TOUR for everyone. God realizes what we need to do to get better—“nothing is given in the game of golf; you have to go get it for yourself.” With many ups and downs; the questions of ‘why is this happening?’ and ‘why is this happening now?’ all came to Justin.  They came and they went as Sarah and Justin’s faith answered the whys and showed the way.

With Sarah & Justin, an inspirational couple. Baby Jackson slept through the whole thing!

With Sarah & Justin, an inspirational couple. Baby Jackson slept through the whole thing!

Sarah and Justin are a testimony to making long-distance relationships work and work out well. Living apart in Indiana and Florida; Justin golfing in Latin America were the geographical challenges. Sarah’s nursing career and Justin’s golfing career were life journey challenges. All were somehow managed so they could be together whether physically together or in different locations. Baby Jackson brought Mom and Dad together traveling on the tour over the last year or so. Now it seems as if everything worked out according to God’s hand and His timing!

In golf there are more lows than highs, more losses than wins and this is for everyone—no one wins more than they lose.  Winning professionally, as Justin first did in 2015 after five years of grinding it out, is indeed fleeting. Was winning what he thought it would be? Finally you beat everybody but it does not last. There’s another tournament the next week…

“You do question it, and you do question God,” Justin added truthfully as Sarah shared her perspective of learning patience. As a nurse, her job is to meet and help people usually going through hard times. The faithfulness of God is what brought Sarah and Justin to where they are today.

With Pastor George Powers of the Palm Valley Baptist Church...

With Pastor George Powers of the Palm Valley Baptist Church…

Pastor Powers, noting a golf game with his brothers yesterday and this being PLAYERS Sunday, gave us the acrostic—G.O.L.F.!

‘G’ is for ‘God’—Creator, Founder, Trinity—in Him was life; His Son Jesus Christ and the light of men—the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was God’s Plan A; not Plan B—John 3:16:   “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

‘O’ is for ‘Obedience’—of the One Jesus to cover our sins and giving us victory over death! We are in the midst of the Lenten Season—40 days of preparation for the event that seals our eternity!

John 15:4:   “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.”

‘L’ is for ‘Love’—God is Love! First John Chapter 4 along with First Corinthians Chapter 13 tell the story of love.

1 John 4:7:   “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”

‘F’ is ‘Forever’—we ended with the Sinners’ Prayer—Jesus, I love you. I am a sinner. I accept You as my personal Lord & Savior. I believe what happened on Calvary; Your Resurrection & our eternal life. I want to follow you! All present saying ‘Amen!’

Psalm 136:   “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. Give thanks to the God of gods, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. …

Pastor Knight speaking about Galatians Chapter 6...

Pastor Knight speaking about Galatians Chapter 6…

Then an inspiring sermon by Pastor Bradley Knight… God speaks in terms of responsibilities, not privileges… burdens vs. stress… purpose vs. ego/desire… and what I needed to hear: look ahead with Jesus, not behind….

Ah the ambiguity of Galatians Chapter 6… to bear another’s burdens or to bear only your own burdens…. Or find love, compassion, & mercy somewhere in between… TROML Baby!

A church aptly named & a community where there are no strangers as first-time visitors are warmly embraced… sow to the Spirit… your new destiny awaits….

“Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)

“Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)

“For each one will bear his own load.” (Galatians 6:5)

“For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:8)

Women of Lisle; First to Vote in New York State on January 5th, 1918!!!

Special day honoring the Ladies of Lisle, the first women to vote in New York State! A historical marker was unveiled in the old Lisle Village Hall exactly 100 years after that first vote. Quite interesting, that first vote was whether or not to keep Lisle a Dry Town! The women voted yes! I wonder what the vote would be today if they concerned the consumption of wine! After the dedication we went over to see a quite impressive exhibit at the Lisle Library and then we went down the street to the French Distillery to toast the woman’s right to drink, excuse me, I mean the woman’s right to vote!   (Andy Reistetter; Facebook Post with 30 Pics; 1-6-18)

A Conversation of Hope between Two Citizens of the World…

From a Facebook Post on November 1, 2017:

Does hearing on the news that terrorists are “inspired” to do these evil things impact you like it does me? Last night Pete Williams on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt said “and a big question was he in touch with terror groups directly or was he simply inspired,” It’s time to hold major broadcasters like NBC News accountable for how they report the news. What next, a feature on a terrorist on their “inspiring America” segment? This is evil, not inspiration and it needs to be stated as such. NBC NewsLester Holt, Pete Williams, and other journalists, please STOP using the word “inspire” when referencing terrorists and their evil acts. If you would like to see NBC News broadcast a correction, apology, and clarification please share this post and email NBC News directly at contact.nbcnews@nbcuni.com.

No Human Being Can Be “Inspired” To Do Evil.

Arne/Norway:   What word would you use, then, Andy? People can be “inspired” in so many ways…

Andy/USA:    Good question Arne! Opposite of “inspire,” in terms of performing a cowardly, misguided, & evil act of terror? Omit any reference to being “inspired,” as a human being cannot be “inspired” to do evil no matter what any religious text states. That was then and now is now, everyone’s opportunity for peace, joy, unity, & freedom both inwardly & outwardly in the world. In this specific case I would have reported it as “and a big question was he in touch with terror groups directly or did this cowardly, selfish, & demonic individual act alone?”

Arne/Norway:   Thus, you would only use “inspired” in a positive setting? Could “influenced” be an option in this instance? As he obviously got the idea for this heinous act from similar attacks here in Europe – carried out by cowards abusing a religion…

Andy/USA:   Yes, only use “inspired” in a positive sense! Good with “influenced” as long as it is not tied to God. You brought up a good point, when & where did all this modern terrorism start? As an American it felt like September 11th & all the prior attempts at the WTC. That is dear & personal to me for a lot of reasons. But sure there are other perspectives?

September 11th Memorial, Mom & Me…

Arne/Norway:   But should one really respect religion when choosing your words as a journalist? These jihadists are “inspired” and honestly believe they to do God’s will as instructed by Mohammed. One of the Hadiths used to explain their love, “inspiration” and protection of the Prophet, is Sahih al-Bukhari Vol.1, Book 2, Hadith 15; The Prophet said “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind.” In extreme; protect the Prophet’s name at all cost … Quite the “inspiration”…

Andy/USA:   Of course one should respect all religions & spirituality when doing one’s job whether a journalist or a bricklayer. I only extract inspiration from the past & live in today for a bright peaceful, joyous, united, & free future for all human beings worldwide. Anything else, in my opinion, is someone more focused on self, ego, power & greed. There are many meaningless, inapplicable references in most religious texts. Extract the inspiration & find one’s Splendid Spiritual Self no matter what religion you profess is my chosen way of life! We can overcome centuries of hatred but need to start with self, family, community, nation, then world. Yes, we have made progress yet have a long way to go in a short period of time for each of us! Again, I don’t think one can be “inspired” when doing evil things… obviously in the chains of denial, justification, & rationalization. Thanks for sharing!

Arne/Norway:   Religious or not – I think most people agree with you in principle on this good philosophy, Andy. My point here though is that religion is being abused to inspire other purposes…

Andy/USA:   I agree with you Arne too! The spirituality part of religion is good but once it goes beyond unity, love, compassion, peace, joy, & freedom of people, especially those with different beliefs, it gets murky pretty fast. Attract me to your religion, no need to promote it as I can see what it is doing for you! We don’t choose our family of origins, time or place of our birth. We could have easily been born a half world away in totally different circumstances. I think the Splendid Spiritual Self is the coming next-generation religion. For me as a Christian it makes sense… Old Testament was our covenant with God, New Testament our covenant with Jesus Christ, then emerges a Third Testament based primarily on The Holy Spirit where we see ourselves as spiritual beings first, then human beings second. With that perspective the world looks a little different… TROML Baby!

2016 5th Annual Corey Walk & 5K Run Against Cancer!

My nephew Corey was an awesome person. Courageous, daring, and with a big heart in life and beyond!

My nephew Corey was an awesome person. Courageous, daring, and with a big heart in life and beyond!

Beautiful evening celebrating the life of my nephew Corey… 5th Annual Corey Walk… after 72 weeks of chemo & proton therapy Corey participated in a compassionate study to help find a cure so that no other kid would endure what he did. My sister Mary reported tonight that the National Cancer Institute, based on promising results of up to 18 months remission, just funded a second study. Corey never stopped believing & his motto was “no pain, no gain.” His 17 years of life, the last in pain, were pure inspiration, and a gain for those who have followed in his footsteps. He touched so many lives. We love you Corey! (Facebook Post with 30 pics, 11/19/16, Andy Reistetter)

The Committee for Corey Scholarship Fund

Organizer of Run Against Cancer 5K 5th Annual Corey 5K Run/Walk

This commitee is comprised of Dallas School District faculty, administrators, student club directors, and friends and family of Corey.

Corey was awarded the Student of the Quarter Spirit Award while a sophomore and
junior at Dallas High School. The Corey scholarship was initiated to recognize those seniors who have shown great school spirit while maintaining good academic standing.

“No Pain No Gain” was Corey’s saying as he spent time in physical therapy to reteach his foot how to run after being told he probably wouldn’t run again. Corey returned to the cross country running fields after 46 weeks of chemotherapy and 26 treatment of proton therapy. Was it easy? No, after the races there were times when the pain was unbearable.

Corey’s mental strength moved beyond feeling pain and the obstacles of doctors telling him there was nothing left in treatment to stop his cancer.

After multiple grueling weeks of chemotherapy and radiation, Corey stayed focused. How? Corey “Never Stopped Believing.” He maintained a positive can do attitude even in the darkest moments of his life. How does someone do that? “No Pain No Gain” was his saying.
