Why Anonymous & Forever 36?

My life has been positively impacted by Twelve Step programs founded on the spiritual principle of anonymity.

In my late 20s I realized I was an Adult Child of an Alcoholic (ACOA) and attended Al-Anon meetings for several years but did not have a sponsor. Later in life I was exposed to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). I am not an alcoholic but I wanted to live the joyous and free lifestyle exhibited by those I met in recovery. I realized I was a compulsive overeater. I attended Overeaters Anonymous (OA) meetings and did get a sponsor. Through abstinence and working the Twelve Steps serenity and peace came into my life for which I am eternally grateful. I am currently active in all three Twelve Step programs, regularly attending meetings, sponsoring others and doing Twelfth Step work as directed. The name of the website, Forever 36, comes from the cumulative total of steps of the three programs—36.

Journaling and the TROML process came to me after Al-Anon and before AA and fully experiencing the Twelve Steps of OA. I see it as an “umbrella” spiritual process that complements Twelve Step programs, religion and other self-development initatives. TROML is unique in that it is uniquely yours, a process to find yoruself and your mission in life. You format the world and contribute to it in the manner that was destined to be yours instead of the world always trying to format you. A way to detach with love from the craziness of our world and become the person you were meant to be and thereby impacting the world in the most positive way.

I hope this explains Forever 36 a little bit. This is a website to share all spiritual principles and how they apply to life today. By doing so we hope to positively change ourselves, the world around us and who knows, maybe, even develop a new spiritual consciousness never before expereinced in this world…
